Jack Frost comes to visit!!
Hey, why is our playground white?
Is it snow?
We found ice!
Our hands are freezing!
C'mon guys!
It's Jack Frost!!
We crunched the frost!
Lucky we have warm winter clothes on!
Welcome to our blog! We are a class of Year 1 and 2 students at Paparore school in the Far North. Our teachers are Mrs Hammond and Mrs Brydon.
During Term 1, Te Pihi wrote letters of congratulations to Emirates Team New Zealand for their awesome efforts in winning the America's Cup.
In Term 2 we were thrilled to receive a mystery parcel sent to us!
In the parcel was a lovely letter to thank us for our letters and a huge poster signed by all the 2021 team! You can check it out on the corridor wall outside our classroom door.
There was also a quality Team NZ cap for every child in the class! We were so stoked that we wore them all day!!
This morning we joined some community organisations like DOC, Bushlands Trust, Summit Forests and Ngai Takato for planting at Lake Ngatu. Some of our parents joined in as well. The adults dug the holes and the students planted the small trees. Then we got to have a barbecue lunch. It was lots of fun and we learnt how to work as a team.
Sylvie's reading group read a journal story called "Rock Doc". A rock doctor's job is called a geologist. Sylvie brought an amethyst to school (like the one in her story). We got to touch it. It felt rough and spiky.
