ANZAC Day commemorations in Te Pihi 2024

"ANZAC" stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. ANZAC Day is to remember all the Australian and New Zealanders who gave their lives in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping missions around the world. It is also a time to remember and thank all those who have served and have continued to serve in the Australian and New Zealand armies.

We baked ANZAC biscuits today to remember the soldiers who served our country at war.

Billy is helping to add the ingredients into the bowl.

Millie is helping to mix all the ingredients together.

Frankie is rolling the biscuit mixture into a ball.

And here are our yummy biscuits all ready to eat.

We ate our yummy ANZAC biscuits at the flag pole.

Here are our poppy pictures (done using a YouTube tutorial for kids).

A is for apple!

A, a, Ally Alligator likes apples!

First we learnt how to write upper and lower case Aa

We learnt how to use a special machine to cut our apples.

We made a spiral shape!

Then we ate them! Amazing!!

Making block graphs

For our maths topic Statistics, we have been learning about making graphs. In our table groups we were given a packet of M&Ms.

We had to sort them into their colour groups and then count each in the group.

Then we made a block graph to show how many of each colour were in our packet.

End of Year Trip!

 Ahipara Beach Fun!

Last Friday we set off in cars and a bus to have some end-of-year fun, as a reward for all our hard work this year! The four Junior classes went to Korora St Park for a play, ice-blocks and morning tea. Then we went to the beachfront to play in the sand and rockpools and have lunch.
Everyone had a great time, had loads of fun and were perfectly behaved! Thank you so much to all our whanau who came to transport, help out and supervise!

Hangin'10!

Sheltering from a shower.

Busy creative sand play!

This pool was chest-deep!

Crab hunting!

The deepest pool was up to our necks!

Thanks Rawiri, for the pack-up snacks!
