Te Pihi's "mini-teachers"

Mrs Hammond's voice was feeling strained today....it got so bad this afternoon that we needed to call on some helpers to read our shared book! Thanks Sylvie and Nova for stepping in and giving Mrs Hammond's voice a break. The headset fitted well too.

Swim Safe!

We are learning how to be safe around water.
If we fall into the water we should make a huddle and hold onto our mates.

Always wear a life jacket when you are on a boat, waka, jet-ski, paddle-board or kayak.

It's very important to wear the right sized life jacket...
...or will slip right out of it if you fall into the water!

Raise one hand if you get into difficulty and need help in the water.

Thank you Whaea Rhonda for teaching us about currents and rips when we are at the beach.

Level 3 Lockdown

Google Meets in November Lockdown

And just like that the Far North went into lockdown again!
So on Thursday 4th November, Te Pihi went back to doing their learning from home.
They looked at our Te Whare Kiwi site to find their tasks.
Some had their iPads delivered to their homes. Some used devices they had at home.
Most did their reading on-line using their PM books that were assigned to them.
Lots did Reading Eggs and MathSeeds activities.
Each school day, we had a get together on Google Meet!

It was so good to see that everyone was well and happy!
We shared our news, what we had been up to, chores, photos, toys, backgrounds, jokes and even had a scavenger hunt together!

We all agree that it's much better learning and playing together with our friends AT school!

First we coloured in the tree trunk.
