Te Pihi's Pretend Flight to Rarotonga

 Learning Through Play!

Last Thursday we had a role play day and set up our class as an aeroplane.

First we filled in our information in our passports.

At the Customs desk, the passports are stamped.

Photo ID is checked.

You need a passport to travel to another country.

Passports are used to identify us.
Michele, our air hostess checked our passports and tickets.

Everyone was scanned for dangerous items.

We waited patiently at Gate 5.

"Please put your seatbelts on," said Pilot Kyle.

Air Controller Kylo directs the aeroplane along the runway.

The air hostess shows where the closest exits are.

The passengers watch the safety video.

Then everyone relaxes with a book or two...

...And some Reading Eggs.

The in-flight movie today is 'PLUTO.'

Captain Dayah takes over the pilot's job.

Co-pilot Neeya checks on everything.

Malerkye is one of the cabin crew who gives out the lollies.

Then Cabin Crew member Dayah hands out lollies before landing.

Everyone watches the Rarotonga arrival video.

Here are the landing pilots.

Yum - jet plane lollies!

Air controller Mikayla directs the plane along the runway.

That was a smooth landing! Thanks pilots!

Upon arrival everyone received a beautiful flower lei.
Welcome to Rarotonga!
Kia orana!

Next we got on a jet-boat to travel to an island.

Te Pihi loves travelling!

Kids Club on the island was so much fun!

We loved our flight day!!

  1. Wow, Te Pihi have learnt so much about travelling on an aeroplane to another country. What country would you like to visit and why?
