- Always do your best in anything you do
- Be brave, even when you're scared or trying something new
Welcome to our blog! We are a class of Year 1 and 2 students at Paparore school in the Far North. Our teachers are Mrs Hammond and Mrs Brydon.
EXCELLENCE
FRIENDSHIP
RESPECT
Here are some ways we can show this:
We all had so much fun at Paparore School's first Pet and Ag Day!
Here a just a few entries to have a look at...
Some superb efforts at home to make these miniature worlds! |
The decorated cupcakes were made at home. They were outstanding! Too cute to eat! |
It took a few weeks to make our paper plate farm animals. |
On the day, everyone made pretty patterns with petals on a vaseline saucer. |
Caterpillars eat lots and lots to grow big and strong. |
We created role plays about one of our favourite books! |
We created art to learn about the life cycle of a monarch caterpillar. |
And an ant too! |
One of our caterpillars made a chrysalis on the swan plant stem |
But one of them made a run for it... |
Higher and higher across our name banners... |
...all the way up to the ceiling! We called him 'Roofie' |
Then he curled up and hung there for a few weeks. |
Until one day he morphed into a butterfly! |
Aria and Mermaid Barbie saved 'Roofie' after he flew down into the sink! |
We are scientists, actors and artists! |
The Playhouse Theatre came to school to perform a show! |
There were only three actors. They spoke in French accents. |
One of their costumes was a mannikin. |
The actors sang, danced and told us a story. |
Everyone laughed and cheered! |
Especially when the Emperor tried on his new INVISIBLE clothes! |
At the end, his suit was made out of a money cheque. |
Today we dressed up in yellow for Daffodil Day. We brought gold coins to school to fundraise for the Cancer Society. Our school raised $370 this year! Michele painted daffodils on our cheeks with the face paint.
We love our school lunches. Today Lykan found a funny shaped biscuit. One of his friends thought that it looked like a poppy flower. What do you think happened to his biscuit???
Richard visited our class to teach us about robots. |
We learnt names for directions: turn left, right, go forwards, backwards. |
First we worked out the instructions or codes on a white board. |
Then we programmed the Beebot with our code. |
Go Beebot! Now we see if our instructions are correct |
If it doesn't work, we press Clear and try again. |
We also learnt to scan a QR code on our iPads. |
We found the Beebot emulator programme and different maps. |
We chose a map or grid to move the little Beebot around on. |
We loved our new learning and we are practising each week! |
